I have chosen my fiction story for my Language Arts reflection. To write a fiction story, there is a process of what you need to do.
Fiction writers ask what book do they wish existed in the world. That question leads to creating a character with all his or her traits and problems. They write about an issue that is important to them and that leads to create a character who struggles with that issue. They know characters motivations and struggles. They also create characters internal and external traits. Fiction writers use a story map to outline their story. They start with the character and setting, they make sure the reader can picture the setting. The writer clearly lets the reader know what the character wants, and what obstacles stand in the way. Fiction writers remember to include dialog that allows the reader to see what the characters are doing. They write events with small moment after small moment so it leads to the climax. Last they resolve the story so there are no loose ends.
There are several things that I did well on in my fiction piece. One thing that I did well on was I had good detail. I did a good job on that because I put detail where it needed to go. Another thing I did well on was I had good characteristic traits. I showed how my character, Ariana, was feeling and how she was acting. I also think I did a good job on spelling. I think I spelled words right and had good punctuation. One small thing I think I did well on was I had a lot of conversation.
There were also several things I didn’t do so well on. These are the thing s I could have done better on. I had a lot of sentence run-ons. I need to edit my work better and check more of my sentences. Another thing I didn’t do well on was spelling. I think I did well and not so well on my spelling. There were a few spelling mistakes, but not a lot.
